The five-tier jubako is prestigious multi-layered boxes used in formal celebrations, where the number of tiers signifies the depth of blessings and festivity. The fan-shaped motifs in the maki-e decoration embody traditional Japanese aesthetics, conveying elegance and refinement.

Maki-e is a technique of sprinkling gold or silver powder onto lacquer to create intricate designs. The fan shape symbolizes the beauty of spreading wind and is often associated with prosperity and happiness.

This five-tier jubako with fan maki-e decoration not only enhances celebratory occasions with its graceful appearance but also reflects a long history of craftsmanship and tradition.
