The five-tier jubako is a traditional multi-layered box used for formal celebrations and special occasions, where the number of tiers symbolizes the weight of blessings and good fortune. The floral motifs in maki-e decoration reflect the changing seasons and the beauty of nature, embodying Japanese aesthetics and delicate craftsmanship.

Maki-e is a technique where gold or silver powder is sprinkled onto lacquer to create intricate patterns, representing one of Japan’s most refined traditional arts, polished through centuries. The floral designs express the breath of life and the passage of seasons, adding elegance and grace to celebratory settings.

This five-tier jubako with floral maki-e is more than just a container; it is a work of art infused with respect for nature and heartfelt wishes for happiness, cherished throughout a long history.
